Welcome to Something New Bespoke Wedding Films
Something New Bespoke Wedding Films was established in 2018 in South West Scotland and quickly became one of the leading luxury wedding film suppliers in the Ayrshire area. We work on a quality rather than quantity basis and from 2024 will only take 5 bookings per month to ensure we deliver your final films to you in a timely manner. As we only have limited space availale we would always advise to book sooner rather then later.
We are now unable to take bookings from April to October in 2023 & 2024 We do have limited availability in the winter months and our 2025 diary is now open for bookings
Our cameras look like...err... cameras ! However they (along with our high end lenses) have have been put together to give outstanding Film quality, all of our cameras film in 4K ultra high definition, which we film in as standard, no 'optional upgrade' needed.
I never double book days and I never send another person to shoot on my behalf

THE AMAZING WEDDING AWARDS
As you will see when planning your wedding there is a LOT of wedding awards out there and we did a lot of emailing last year and begging for votes and were delighted to get a highly commended award. However after attending and watching how these awards work we have since distanced ourselves from all of these award ceremonies. We feel that these can lead perspective clients down the wrong road thinking a particular supplier is of worth due to 'winning' an award. Unfortunately it has become apparant that the judging process at most of these awards is not about the skills, or the way suppliers go about trading, which we believe leads people to make a descion which may not be in their best interests. The awards themselves are a business which make money from running these events so it is in their own interest to push how valuable their award is. So we now steer clear of all 'awards' we will not be emailing you begging for votes or flooding social media with requests for votes. This does in no way take away from those that do support any awards, it is purely our view on how these are put together and run.
We have had a look around our local competitors and found we are well below their pricing ! So from the 1st Jan 2024 we will have a totally new pricing structure in place. All quotations sent out this year will only be valid until 31st December 2023
2023/2024 Limited availability notice
From 2024 we will only take 5 bookings a month to ensure we have quality time to spend editing your final films and get your final USB back to you in a reasonable time even over peak times. We still have limited availability through the winter months and our 2025 is starting to fill with bookings.
2025 availability notice
We now have very limited space for 2025. May and July have now been closed for bookings and the other months can take just a few more bookings
Quality over quantity
All our final films are supplied on a extremely high quality Bespoke USB meaning you can just plug in to your TV or computer and play. One of the main reasons we ditched the traditional DVD was to keep the quality of the 4K film, it also means you can copy and share your wedding films as much as you like eliminating the need to purchase more £70 USB's ! We split your wedding films up into sections making it easy to jump straight to your ceremony or speeches or if Aunty Jane wants to see you in your dress you can send her just the photoshoot.
Sometimes its the little things that mean the most and we believe to have a stunning wedding film means you need to have crystal clear audio of your ceremony and speeches. Again using the latest technology we use small lapel Microphones including Instamic, Tascam and Rode Go which are classed as being some of the best in the industry and are discreet but powerful to ensure you are not straining to hear your wedding vows when you are watching your wedding film.
Lights ! Camera ! Action !
A lot of my background was in photography so understand you need to have a flash if you are going to take a photo of a newlywed couple against a stunning sunset, however with films a flash is useless. So we have invested in some constant LED lighting which allows us to keep on filming into the after dinner dusk/evening photoshoot by lighting up our couple we can get that shot even if the light around us is fading. We take our lights with us to all our weddings as it gives us the opportunity to get creative, which we love to do.
Why is 4k important ?
Ok so we do make quite a big deal about the fact that we film our weddings in 4K Ultra High Definition without any upcharge. But why does it matter ? Firstly in this day and age we believe if you are paying for a wedding film then surely you want the best possible quality? Why would you spend £££ on your day and then leave your memories to poor quality resolution? As technology is gathering pace we want your films to still look fantastic in 5-10-20 years time !. To film in 4K (as most cameras and phones do these days) literally means changing the setting on the back of the camera, for this some videographers charge £££ for changing a setting ? Obviously there is a lot more to it, extra memory cards, a system that can edit the huge files, and storage to hold all the files, but taking all this into account we do not see why you should settle for less for your special day. It really does make a difference go compare the footage you will see how great it looks. We are now testing filming your ceremony and speeches in 6K ! on one camera ! then take it down to 4k so you can play it on your TV
Luxury Cinematic Wedding Films
Choosing the Cameras we have has given us the freedom to mount them on a 'Gimble' which allows us to move around and get footage that you would normally be paying thousand's for. As you can see from our highlight films we do not zoom in or zoom out, as you are not able to do this with your eyes it sometimes feels unnatural, instead we are able to physically move the camera to look at what is happening whilst producing lovely smooth footage. Working like this gives us real freedom to catch those unexpected moments and move around quickly without the need for bulky tripods again something you would expect from the high end wedding film brands. On top of this we fully edit your final wedding film taking into account the 'look' of the finished film to create something beautiful for that you want to watch time and time again. For us filming your wedding is more than just recording your day but to deliver something that is visually stunning. If you would like to go ahead and book your date with Something New we require a £200.00 non refundable booking fee which is included in our pricing to confirm your date. We don not hold any dates without a booking fee being paid.
Photo and video package
We often get asked if we can do photos as well as film, however we believe splitting ourselves in two would give half the quality ! SO have teamed up with some local Photographers to offer photo and film packages to suit all styles and budgets. You can choose to have your photos supplied on a USB or in an album. Choose from the following Photographers, depending on their availability
Drone Footage As Standard
We now include Drone footage in your wedding films as standard ! Dependant on weather and flying restrictions - Cue Epic Drone Promo !
You get your full films, however taking our full day package gives you a highlight film to show off your full day, great for social media posts and sharing with those who couldn't make it on the day. Below is a selection of Highlight Films from different venues, our full catalogue of wedding highlights can be found over on our Youtube channel. We hope you enjoy looking over what we do -
